Features of the 123/MINI-R-V-A-plus electronic ignition
The unit is laid out in such a way, that static timing can be done on TDC, by means of the built-in LED.
The unit offers 16 curves.
The unit also offers:
- Vacuum advance
- Automatic dwell
- Automatic power-cut after 1 second
- Gear shift retard

The A+ plus engines were made from circa 1980. Please make sure you'll need a A-plus version. For the old 'pre-A-plus' engines please order: 123/MINI-R-V.

Please read the installation manual carefully. It contains more information about motor- and distributor numbers, static timing and the advance-curves, the specifications of the 123-ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure. The installation manual also offers a comprehensive list, that links a curve-setting to a particular engine.
Coil and spark plugs
Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in future. We recommend the 123 Blue Coil.

I got this for my Clubman Estate that has had a Metro 1275 transplant. I had been using my old mini distributor and decided it was time to get rid and trade up to a new ignition system. 123 is great as it has tuning covered for you to get you started with whatever engine number you have. Leen was a great support too with fast delivery and then good advice to make sure I got on the right track. Very happy and can recommend. Also priced right so that buying from the Netherlands can be cheaper than buying from the UK, so check the exchange rates.
Enkele weken geleden heb ik, tegelijk met het APK laten keuren van m'n Volvo S90 (wat Leen trouwens zeer vakkundig deed, evenals het vervangen van de fuseekogel die speling had), een 123 Ignition gekocht voor m'n Mini 1000 Mayfair Automatic uit '88. Die heb ik, samen met de Bosch Blue Coil die ik ook heb gekocht, gemonteerd. Dit was met de bijgeleverde handleiding volkomen probleemloos en zeer snel geregeld (nog geen half uur bezig geweest). Tevens liep de Mini direct 'n heel stuk beter dan voorheen, en dat zelfs zonder het dynamisch inregelen van het ontstekingstijdstip (dat moet ik binnenkort nog even doen; eerst de koppakking vervangen, want die is lek tussen cilinder 3 en 4, maar dat heeft uiteraard niets met de 123 Ignition te maken)! Maar ik neem aan dat 'ie daarna nóg wat beter zal lopen. Kortom, ik ben erg tevreden over de 123 Ignition (en over Leen in 't algemeen).
